ਨਿਊਜ਼ੀਲੈਂਡ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜਾਬੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਭਰਤੀ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਭੜਕਿਆ ਵਿਵਾਦ

ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਗਰ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਰੋਕੇ ਜਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਹੁਣ ਨਿਊਜ਼ੀਲੈਂਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜਾਬੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਭਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਵੱਡਾ ਵਿਵਾਦ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਮੈਨੂਕਾ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਸਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਏ ਭਰਤੀ ਸੈਮੀਨਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਧਿਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ‘ਤੇ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਐਤਰਾਜ਼ ਜਤਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਡੈਸਟਿਨੀ ਚਰਚ ਦੇ ਬ੍ਰਾਇਨ ਤਮਾਕੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਸੰਸਥਾ ‘ਦ ਫ੍ਰੀਡਮ ਐਂਡ ਰਾਈਟਸ ਕੋਅਲਿਸ਼ਨ’ ਨੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵਰਗੀ ਸੀਕ੍ਰੇਟ ਫੋਰਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਨਿਊਜ਼ੀਲੈਂਡ ਦੇ ਮੂਲ ਨਾਗਰਿਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਗੈਰ-ਨਿਊਜ਼ੀਲੈਂਡ ਵਸਨੀਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਭਰਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਪਤ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਸਕਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਵਿਰੋਧਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਕਲੈਂਡ ਹਾਰਬਰ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ਼ ‘ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਚੇਤਾਵਨੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਬੇਤਹਾਸ਼ਾ ਇਮੀਗ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ “ਨਿਊਜ਼ੀਲੈਂਡ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਊਜ਼ੀਲੈਂਡ ਹੀ ਰਹਿਣ ਦਿਓ, ਘੁਲ-ਮਿਲ ਜਾਓ ਜਾਂ ਛੱਡ ਦਿਓ” ਦਾ ਨਾਰਾ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਅੱਜ 31 ਜਨਵਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਣਾ ਹੈ।




Protests have intensified in New Zealand following opposition to the recruitment of Punjabis into the New Zealand Police. After a recruitment seminar at Manukau Police Station, Destiny Church leader Brian Tamaki and the Freedom and Rights Coalition raised concerns over national security. Protesters argue that sensitive information could be compromised if non-native citizens are inducted into secret forces like the police. The movement is also linked to resistance against mass immigration.
